How to fast forward on your Kobo ereader


Reading on an ereader is such a pleasure, and the drawbacks are so trivial that I hesitate to mention them. One of them that I have recently discovered is having to go through all of the pages such as the cover, the copyright notice, the dedication, the forward, that sort of thing. With an old paper book you could get right into the good stuff, and you can with a Kobo, too.

When you open a book on your Kobo, press the Menu button and Select Table of Contents. Don't worry, it's not the Table of Contents section of the book itself, it's the division of digital sections in the ebook, the same way a DVD is divided into scenes. You will see Cover, Copyright page, that sort of thing. Skip to the the first thing that looks like a chapter heading. And get reading!

How to return your library ebooks early for your Kobo

If your local digital library is like mine, you are limited to a total of ten ebooks checked out at a time. The checkout period is two weeks, but you don't have to wait for the time to expire to return your already-read books and be able to check out more. You can return you books early. And then get some more!

In Adobe Digital Editions, select the book that you want to return. In this example, I am returning the book AD 381. Select Return Borrowed Item. Once the book is returned, you will be able to check out another book. If you are like me, and like to check out a lot of books, and read them quickly, this trick will be helpful to you.
